Sometimes when I back a project on Kickstarter, I find myself waiting anxiously for it to be fulfilled, regardless of how long the wait may be. That was the case with the latest edition of Super Dungeon Explore and is proving to be the case with my Games and Gears Battle Board.
Other projects have a habit of slipping out of mind after a while and almost come as nice surprises when they do show up. The latest of these surprises is a card game caĺled Cthulhu’s Vault, created by Jolly Roger Games.
I have only had an initial glance at the game but, for what it is, it looks good. The art is nice, the cards are of a decent stock and quality (never underestimate the importance of a good card stock) and the rules seem quite straightforward. I picked it up because I am a sucker for a good storytelling game and, despite the glut of Cthulhu-themed games on the market these days, I love H. P. Lovecraft’s writing and enjoy immersing myself in games based upon it.
I will try to get a game of Cthulhu’s Vault played in the next few weeks and write a little about how it actually plays.
