Hobby Update 27/04/18: All the GemeraldsApril 27, 2018
There was no Hobby Update last week for two reasons. First of all, I was hella busy, between work, visitors and car trubs. The second reason was that I didn’t actually do all that much hobby-wise. I played some Carcassonne with my Wednesday group and some Star Wars: Rebellion on Thursday. I only got a photo of the game of Carcassonne:
My goal of 100 painted models for the year is not going well. As we finish off the fourth month of 2018, I’m sitting at a total of nine models. This current batch of miniatures should help me make a dent in my goal. I have started repainting some second hand Pink Horrors. They were in a state of utter disrepair and quite badly put together. I’ve done as much as possible to tidy them up and they are now primed a lovely, brilliant pink:
I look forward to finishing these 40 Horrors and suddenly being almost halfway to my goal!
I didn’t take as many pictures as I’d have liked on Wednesday and Thursday, but we played the same games each night. Santorini is a game that I am really enjoying, and I love how it looks once the game gets going. Century is rapidly becoming one of my favourite games and I have played it a lot since picking it up a few weeks ago.
Century will be in at least my top 20 this year – possibly my top 10. It’s also a game I can win at now and then. Actually, I’ve been doing well with Santorini as well, winning every round I’ve played.
At club on Thursday, others were playing some Warhammer 40,000. Here are a few pictures from their games:
Finally, with half an hour to kill at the end of the evening, I managed to squeeze in a few games of Hive:
Hive remains a perennial favourite. So simple, but with so much to offer. John Yianni is a genius!
Next week, I should have lots of pictures of Warhammer 40,000. See you then!
